Ah ok I see what you mean about your CF. Well at least now you will have adequate treatment and can take appropriate preventative measures like the vest and hypertonic saline. But you still do have good PFTs - don't let that fact get lost. I know that you can feel like crap even with great PFTs but you are at a great advantage. How is your weight normally? If you have good nutritional status and good BMI then that is even better.

Have you thought about seeing a councilor? There are people out there who specialize in treating people with chronic medical conditions. Also, the more you learn about CF, the less scary it will become. (actually it will get more scary before it gets less scary). But I found the more I educated myself the better I felt about it all. Positive thinking and imagery can go a long way too - if you are able to lower your stress level (thereby lowering your cortisol level) your body is able to function better. Better immunity, better coping mechanisms, etc. OH I just saw on oprah that eating the right foods (those with DHA and Omega 3s I think) enabled people to cope better. I also found that I don't cope very well when I'm deficient in magnesium - I was as close as I've ever been to having anxiety attacks a few months ago. But I got everything straightened out nutrition wise and I feel SO much better.

Gotta run

Bonnie, oh Bonnie,

I could have written your post fo ryou, well not about membranes <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0"> LOL! The reacting to being diagnosed and getting sick etc.

I foudn that after being diagnosed it took me a good two years to 'figure out' my body and my signs and learn what everything meant. I was so scared that I was getting sick and wouldnt get better I woudl go to doc all time to get checked out 'just to catch it before it got bad' etc.

After you have the baby you will be able to see your baseline and do all your treatments and I bet you will see that you are fairly healthy adn that you will get sick less now than you did before when you were undiagnosed.

If you ever want to chat let me know.

I am sorry ou had to make the extra trip <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">
