Alisha - I did not know that our experience was similar. We tried for a much shorter amount of time before seeing an RE, but we did two natural IUIs w/out success and then got PG on our first clomid IUI (had a m/c and then got PG again on our second IUI + clomid). I always wondered why the clomid helps if our only problem is supposed to be cervical mucus.

You know I wondered the same thing! Did you have normal size eggs with the natural cycle? My first cycle I had a 21mm egg and my second cycle I had I think it was a 20mm egg. Which were great size normal eggs. I took the lowest dose of clomid and came out like the easter bunny with 3 eggs over 20mm. I guess I figured out that it had to do with the numbers. The more eggs that we put out there to get fertilized the better of a chance we have. I guess its like any normal person who has no issues at all. If you make normal good eggs then with the clomid help you will make alot of good eggs. Just more targets for the sperm to hit Plus of course doing an IUI we have a better chance of getting the sperm to the eggs anyways but for us it bypasses our "mucus problem"

Nick and I were married in May of 06 and well lets say never used anything to prevent pregnancy. But March of 09 was out first RE time with trying. Needless to say CF played a huge part.

It's so funny as a girl you spend can spend so much time trying to prevent being pregnant and then when you want and try to get pregnant you actually have to have a freaking doctor to help you. What are the darn odds of that?

My husband says that all the time!

I had one good-sized follicle with each natural IUI. And, with our first clomid IUI, I also only had one follicle (and got PG). With the second clomid IUI, I had two follicles, although one was on the small side (only 16.5 mm at trigger). So, IDK. Could just be a coincidence. Or maybe the clomid helped w/ something non-CF related, like egg quality. In your case, it definitely sounds like having more eggs could have just raised your chances!
