Hi
I am kinda in the same boat. My 5 month old tested positive in his newborn screen, normal pacreatic function and so far showing no signs. Full pannel tests run by ambry showed what would appear to be a positive cf diagnosis but we are having trouble getting medical care for our son as he is showing no symptoms. Please feel free to contact me offline if you wish to vent <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I have a 6 year old. Diagnosed by amneo.
she needed enzymes at 3 months after breastfeeding when she ate baby food.
still at 6 years old, has no signs of CF...Takes all the meds, doing well, never been sick....
do whatever your Dr. Suggests.....early intervention is the key to taking control of this disease.

First, thank you for responding to my post Tabetha, Angela, Heather, Leah and Kimber! I love this forum. People are so helpful and supportive. I feel so lucky to have this as a resource.

Just one more question...Are there any negative side affects from taking enzymes and have any of you found it too challenging to give an infant enzymes?

Thanks!

I'm not really sure about side affects as my son has not experienced any. Sometimes it can be a bit difficult to give the enzymes but overall my son does ok. I dip a baby spoon in applesauce, pour the enzymes on the spoon, and mix them in with another spoon. I give them to him on the spoon and just keep scraping off his mouth and putting back in whatever comes out.I put his bottle in his mouth as soon as all the enzymes have made it in, this helps keep them in. You need to make sure all the enzymes are swallowed that are in the mouth because they can cause mouth sores if allowed to dissolve in the mouth.
