Okay, I'm sitting here in my hospital room and there's this super loooong commercial on the 80's top hits ("80s Gold Collection!), and I'm loving all of them!!!! Maybe I'm just too tired, but I can't wait to get home so I can go buy this cd.

How funny...

Rossanna
Keep on loving you
waiting for a girl like you
I love you more than I can say
ebony and ivory
Kiss is on my list
say you, say me
carribean queen
what a feeling (flashdance!) yipee and was my favorite movie forever.
down under (men at work)
Take on me (Ah-Ha)

I HATE starship though! They suck.
Lionel Richie rocks!!

I'm feeling old cuz I remember rockin out to these when I just a whee little one.

My next phase of music jumped pretty quickly to "heavy metal". Now I just need one of those commercials......iron maiden, metallica, ozzy, megadeth, etc. The phases music can take you through are hilarious.

How entertaining.

This commercial is still going and it's already been like 10 minutes. I guess this is an infomercial with an old Reo Speedwagon and Blondy hosting it.

I'm done.
Night -

Yeah, if you set aside disco, there were some good tunes from that era. Blondie was cool before Madonna even sang a note. There was Queen, who rocked, and David Bowie, who was Ziggy Stardust--and various other alien forms. Huey Lewis and the Newts, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Hall and Oats (I was heartbroken when they broke up) and the Cars. Yeah, those were some good times, I mean tunes. My mind, by that time, had been altered by the 70's, so yes, the 80's was one long party--I'm soo glad my car knew how to drive me home. By the way, I was your age when the 80's really happened! Good music is timeless.

I realized I was getting old when the 80's became an era & was included in the time frame at our local radio station to play the Oldies from the 50, 60, 70 & 80's.....UGG! I am the older generation by all rights. I could have a child graduating highschool going by my maternal biological time table!

I LOVE those commercials too Kelly! I also LOVED the 80s, at least early 80s.

I had trendy tastes in music going from Disco to punk rock- whatever was fun at the time. I was in college-so it was PARTY< PARTY< PARTY!!! In school I saw Blondie, the B52s, the Clash, the Prentenders and the RAMONES (all-great fun).

Disco had its place- great for a college kid at the time! Saturday Night Fever

Teri- you make me laugh! Party on!

I LOVE 80's music!!!

I too found myself feeling old when the music I grew up with is considered era or classic music.

I liked the hair bands.

Quiet Riot
Ratt
Poison
Winger
Wham (not a hair band, but loved George Micheals)
etc

LOVE THEM

What about VH1 doing features on Ratt and Pantera...when I was 15 I always considered VH1 music for old people.. I guess that is me now?

Seana,

We have a local Regatta every year and this year one of the performers is Quiet Riot, I can't wait!

I Loved Quiet Riot, Ratt, back in the day too. Never got into Pantera, but loved Slayer.

My favorite show that I used to tape all the time was Headbangers Ball on Mtv! And little did I know that my husband used to watch it too, and he was on the other side of the country. We always get a kick out of that. We were spiritually watching it together, holding hands and rocking out. So funny.

There are probably a few who remember Don Kirshner's ROCK CONCERTS (70s and 80s). It was always a great thing to watch while babysitting on Sat. nights! OK, I'm old.

My love affair with music began soo young. The first tapes I owned
were Huey lewis and the News, Billy Joel (glass houses) Cyndi
lauper and Madonna (Lucky Star) i knew each tape by heart...even if
I didn't really know what it all meant I still love all that
junk and my ipod has an 80's flash back playlist dedicated to my
reminiscent moods.
Kelly I could probably mix you a cd off my ipod that would beat the
socks off what they've got If you want PM a mailing address and
I'll pop it in the mail. (I have my Mom do all the handling just to
be safe )
