I would appreciate it if you would read all my posts before comenting on whether my process of sterilizing is wrong! I do not use the GermGuardian as a sterilizer (only as a dryer)

Here is my process in detail:

1. I soak them in hot soapy water around 2-3 minutes (stiring a few times).
2. Rinse them.
3.Sterilize them using a microwave sterilizing tray. (I am not sure of the brand, but it was made for baby bottles)
4. Dry them in the GermGuardian.
5. Keep them in air tight container until next use.

Before buying the GermGuardian I used to let them air dry. At the last CF clinc the Nurse Practioner told me not to do that any longer. She said I should dry them with a hair dryer and store them in a container. I thought that sounded silly, so I went on a hunt for a sterilizer that left the nebs dry. I found and bought the GermGuardian.

Your right the title of this post should read "The GermGuardian a Poor Sanitizer but Great Dryer for nebs and aerochamber; when added to your already perfect sterilizing regimen!" I do apologize.

I am considering getting one to dry/store nebs. I hate leaving them on the counter to air dry (eventhough I cover them with clean paper towels.) Can someone tell me how many nebs the Germ Gaurdian holds?

We use the PariLC plus nebs and go through atleast 6 nebs a day since both my daughter and husband use them. Do you think it would hold all 6?

Thanks!

First I soak Avery's neb cups, masks, inhaler and aero-chamber in hot soapy water and then shake off. Next I add all of it to the chamber and 30 min. later everything is sterlized and dry! I store it when finished in a airtight container.

</end quote></div>

Had the first post included step 3 (which it clearly did not) I don't think any of this debate would have occured. At this point I think we should all chock this up to miscommunication and move on.

Teri-
I can fit 2 neb cups, 2 neb masks, 1 inhaler and 1 aerochamber at once. I have to do 1 round in the am and 1 in the pm. So, it may not be big enough for you.

Tom-
Your right about the first post not being detailed. I was simply trying to share a discovery I made with everyone. I was not asking for help or advice on my techniques. So I am confused as to why it mattered if my post wasn't detailed. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">
