A little frustrated with the dietician

So my son wasn't really gainig enough weight and he was upped to a 30 calorie formula recipe.Well we've been making that and I starting adding a tiny bit of Activa yogurt to the formula as was recommended by the Dr. I also started giving him cereal with his meds that he gets twice a day and i stopped breastfeeding so he would get more calories. So anyways I've been doing all this and it's been working:he gained about 10 ounces in 5 days. When we saw the dietician she said his weight gain is getting better and maybe in two weeks at our next visit we can lower the calorie count back down,ok. Now this is where I get frustrated, she would like me to spread out his feedings more to lik every 3 hours. I feed him when he's hungry, we also found that if he eats too much at once he vomits. She says I know I said that he should get more formula but really you should space it out and will you keep track of when he eats and how much. Argh this is frustrating, make up your mind lady, it took quite awhile for us to find something that works and now she wants to change it. I think I am going to have to go with my mothher's intuition and what I know works with our son.

IMO go with what works. We were given a certain volume ds was supposed to drink and it was very rare if he drank that amount.

We have these same issues with the dietician here. I basically listen to what she has to say and incorporate what works. That being said, I go with my mothers intuition and do what works best for my little guy! I get frustrated because I don't feel that they acknowledge that all of these kids are different and what works for one does not necessarily work for all! Good luck, whatever you choose!

every dietician is different. I didn't necessarily agree or follow all her 'advice'. for instance, I didn't stop breastfeeding. nope. wouldn't do it.
I did supplement with bottles and cereal and other extra calories, but put my foot down at that 'suggestion'.
