Dear Forum Community Members,
When I first found this site I was excited to see the way that categories and subcategories were laid out. I hoped that by clicking on the appropriately labeled forum headings that I would find information helpful or pertinent to that category. That has not been the case.
It's difficult to tell from the forum headings what type of information I may find. In the "adults" topic for instance I see a lot of talk about pregnancy, which granted, is a an adult topic, however, there is a subtopic of "Pregnancy" that would be a more appropriate place to post.
Throughout the short time I've been here, the ease of navigating the site has been increasingly more difficult. Approximately 10% of the time I do find something truly useful or thought provoking. The other 90% I find myself wading through thinly veiled insults and debates that aren't particularly edifying in any way, shape or form. As an adult with CF I only have so much energy to spread around, and this forum has left me depleted, and that's my own fault.
In the spirit of being "A Support Community" as this site is described on its main page, I would like to politely request that we return to making an effort to use the categories and subcategories that the those who designed this website so considerately provided. Doing so will improve the ease of use of the forums not only for those who are frequent posters, but also for those who are new and trying to find useful information.
In case you're wondering, I have posted this in "Adults" because I am an adult making a polite request of other adults (CF or non) who post here. I have elected not to post in the subcategory of "off topic" because it is a request that pertains to the forum as a whole. The "off topic" subcategory is also not the best fit for classifying this post.
Basically, this is my last post to the forums for quite awhile. If anyone wants to reach me or would like a particular question answered from my point of view, go ahead and PM me.
Respectfully, to those who've earned it and have expressed likewise in manner, I am bowing out of the forums.
L.
