A Simple Request

I don't like the subcategories. It complicated things, because I never know whether I should be posting in the adult section, or the Adult CFers. I think we should just post where we find it relivant. If people don't want to read it, pass it along.

Liz, I agree, I'm also puzzled that this is such a big deal to others. It's easy to breeze through what you want to read, and answer what you want to answer. On the other hand, Amy's answer was good too. The main problem is that most people dont visit off-topic. Or blogs.

I've been here for nearly over a year now, and there had been so many drastic changes, the catagories have doubled or tripled since.

Also, I had a bad experience with needing a quick reply to a topic, which I put in a catagory that was supposedly "catagorized-correct", and I got little to no reply until I made mention that it was there!! Most people don't seem to stray in that area.

However, I do consider those who are in the "catagorized-correct" minority when I post. Then again, maybe that's also why I don't seem to post as much anymore...

Sorry to hear you are bowing out, L. Perhaps a break from here would help, or just come and view as anonymous for a while.

i don't like subcategories either. more stuff gets read on the adult section, so I think that's why more people post "off topic" stuff here, but I like being able to read it all in one place. but that's just me...

I too have been coming to the site since long before there were so many subcatagories, and I don't have time or the desire to dig through EVERY single one of them to find/answer stuff. Apparently neither do a lot of people. How often do we see post title "From a Post in (insert subcatagory)" or something similar. Plus if I come across a thread that I want to keep tabs on for a while I don't want to have to hunt throught the entire site to find it again.

To abide by the catergories or subcatergories is great if it really worked that way. I for one dont find that set up easy to negotiatie. I stick to Adult, Family & Off Topic. These are the most viewed. Sorry if it irritates you, but I am grateful to have the info & input at all even if the format or use of it doesnt please all people!

sorry if me posting about my Pregnancy anouncement and the fact that I had a pregnancy related EMERGENCY bothered you. Maybe I needed fast advice from everyone here, before I was whisked off to the ER?

In all seriousness, if yesterday I could have written in the preg category and everyone would have checked it, that'd be great but when I log on during the day for a minute, I don't check each subcategory. Just like if you had put this on OT, no one would have looked. Hmm-is that why you put it here?

Do you-and others who feel this way-have nothing else to do with your daytime that nitpick about who posts what where?

I don't give a crap about anybody posting anything anywhere. If I see its "New Job" or "Soccer Team" related, and I'm not interested I don't click.

Just like I don't listen to every telemarketer, let them finish and then lecture them. I hang up.

Alright babies, go back to playing nice.
