I know it's extra expense for the gear and physical labor to get there, but backpacking, or some form of 'walk in' camping could be a solution. Though I have no CF I still steer clear of gnarly campground bathrooms (and campgrounds for the matter). Most liquid fuel backpacking stoves produce no smoke and many wilderness areas don't allow open fires.
No smoke from fires and cooking, no dust from cars, no dirty restrooms, and possibly less dampness (depending on your region - e.g. the high and dry environs of the southwest). Could also look into lodging near your favorite outdoor areas and make daytrips (away from campfire smoke, campground bathrooms, etc.). May not be any worse than staying at home. Your thoughts?
