BrsMiney, I certainly did not mean to offend you with my concerns. We see so many people who come here for answers, who have been misinformed by doctors, and I was only trying to encourage you to push them if that was happening to you. I am very sorry that my choice of words was upsetting to you. It was not my intention.

I may be more passionate about pushing for answers, because my son went undiagnosed for 15 years. CF is a progressive disease, and the key is prevention. I wish we had been able to start preventative treatments on him much sooner. I just don't want to see that same thing happen to others.

Again, I did not mean to upset you, and I wish you the best.

Stacey, thanks for clarifying. I felt like you were accusing me of being unrealistic or else unconcerned enough about my son that I would not push for answers--neither of which is true. No harm done.

We were supposed to have gotten our sweat test results back Friday afternoon and we did not, so they tension around here is awful. I'm not sure how hubby and I will survive the rest of the weekend without killing one another or simply exploding (literally). We usually are the most mild-mannered couple, but it is obvious this is wearing on us on a very deep level.

Pray that we get good results Monday and that they come in early.

I will be praying for good results on Monday. I'm glad that your doctor did step out of his "comfort zone" to get you started on a track to either rule it in or rule it out. Sometimes, too, insurance will only cover genetic testing in steps, rather than pay for the (kinda expensive) full panel testing, so the doctor's have to go along with the insurance's "wishes".

And no, please don't think that the people here are critizing you <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> - it is all meant in the spirit of helping through experience. We have just dealt with doctors who, er, poo-poo our concerns and don't follow through to a definitive answer, and it is so frustrating to find out down the road that you were right (not to mention, it is difficult to not pound a doctor when that happens <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> ). It is also a stress reliever to get a definite "yes" or "no".
