Okay guys,
I was just started on Nexium for acid reflux. I am on IVs and had gone to my doc for a follow up and was complaining about increased cough, sore throat, hoarseness, shortness of breath, tightness/discomfort in my chest not to mention that I had felt acid coming up my esophagus at times. The doc told me that with all of those symptoms it seemed to indicate acid reflux.
I am not doubting his conclusion at all. I am simply wondering how long it took for those of you on meds for acid reflux to notice a difference. I have noticed a little less shortness of breath today, but my throat is feeling worse. I am getting this nagging urge to cough on occasion which is made difficult by this swollen/inflammed feeling in my throat ... I almost feel like I am getting laryngitus (which I seem to get every few months anymore). I didn't know if this was a normal adjustment to the meds or not. That is why I am asking.
Thanks for any insight and experiences you all can offer on this - this is the first time I have been prescribed meds for acid reflux - lol I thought this (reflux) would be one CF problem that I would miss at the roulette table but alas NO lol.
Thanks again,
Lindsey
