Addressing the Family......(VENT ALERT)

OLE to the woos of fund raising.

I'm sure each an every one of us can give lots of disappointment in our family and friends when it comes to this topic. I ran into so many closed doors that I finally figured that taking care of my child was a lot easier than trying to get only one to care about this disease that at anytime could creep up on their family. I still do what I can but I have learnt to expect nothing of others so what ever we receive is a gift and we given from the heart. I have found that strangers have the biggest hearts.

I will share one non-giver with you (warning this is not for the weak at heart). I am a single mother and my daughters very own FATHER has never once given. She will be 11 in a few months and has only seen her father a hand full of times can't really blame it on gas prices because he is just about 20 miles away.

So hold your head high and be thankful for those whom has supported you and when the time comes you'll get your chance to say "NO"

This is my 3rd year doing this. I should have given up on those people after the first year. But I tried and still the same responses</end quote></div>

I have a few in my extended family that don't donate, either. So I understand your aggrevation. However (and this may sound cruel to some, but I'm going to say it anyway) if anyone in your extended family gets the disease, oh well. Some people have to learn the hard way, and get slapped in the face before they wake up and smell the coffee. If I were you, I'd just let it roll off your shoulders and ignore them. You can't say you didn't try.

As for people not donating because of religious reasons? I think that's a bunch of bull***t and they're using it as an excuse not to part with their precious $5.</end quote></div>

I COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT BETTER MYSELF!!!! I say that all the time "However (and this may sound cruel to some, but I'm going to say it anyway) if anyone in your extended family gets the disease, oh well. Some people have to learn the hard way, and get slapped in the face before they wake up and smell the coffee. If I were you, I'd just let it roll off your shoulders and ignore them. To Kybert if you are still out there....CALM DOWN a little and remember that we are all at different stages. The Mum concerned is still grieving as her daughter is a baby...I don't see why you felt the need to give her a reality check. Who says you are the reality check police anyhoo!
As the years go by it may affect her less but as Em said she was explaining that it is genetic and she wasn't asking for them to fund a new car for her use!! if she can't vent on here how she feels...who can she with????

It is similar to when you suggested a young girl give up her baby just because she is facing a hard time at present. Not everything is black and white and we aren't here to judge. That old saying comes to mind...if you haven't anything nice to say!! You do have animals don't you?? Imagine someone suggest giving them up for adoption during a difficult time.

I feel you wanted to hurt the young Mum and ther is nothing to be gained from what you said except to make yourself sound TUFF, rude, uncaring.

No one set out to hurt her. We were worried about the tiny child she is responsible for. And it wasn't Kylie that first suggested the adoption idea on that thread either.

jan, i think you need to join pansy private topic land too. yet another one who cant handle a sensible opinion. you should also get your facts right before you start shooting your mouth off. for starters i was not the one who first suggested adoption. second, if you have bothered to read vampy's previous posts you would actually have a clue about her history and why adoption was suggested. as for me being the reality check police, you are damn bloody right. i actually have the guts to stand up and tell someone that they are being stupid. this aint kindergarten and i am not going to sit around holding hands and sing kumbaya. the only thing molly coddling does is helps reinforce self destructive behaviour. which leads me to believe that you actually want jennifer to constantly stress over something so petty. just as people can come here to vent, i can come here and say my piece too. thankyou for your innacurate psychoanalysis but i dont want to hurt anyone. if my posts, which are downright tame compared to some, hit a nerve with people then they obviously have personal issues they need to sort out. by the way, i do have animals and if i could not look after them properly they would be rehomed, so you are wrong again!

p.s. if you think i am tough, rude and uncaring you have a lot instore for this forum. i am like bambi compared to other members. i suggest newbies get used to it.
