ADEK Vitamins

Hello...I am new to these boards.  I have an unusual
request...and I hope I do not get flamed for this....<br>

I do not suffer from CF.  However, I have had a weight loss
surgery procedure called the Duodenal Switch.  It has a
malabsorption component that makes the surgery work (it shortens
the length of the small intestines allowing for less absorption).
 This procedure has saved my life.  I have gone from 432
pounds to 163 pounds in the past 2 years and my life is now full
for the first time in many years and many of my health problems
have gone away.<br>
<br>
However, this has created a new set of problems.  After taking
out expensive loans to pay for my surgery, I find myself having
problems affording the expensive cocktail of vitamins I must take
everyday.  Among them are the ADEK vitamins, since I no longer
properly absorb the fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K.<br>
<br>
My humble request is if anyone has or gets the ADEK vitamins that
they do not need if they would be willing to donate them to me, or
offer them at a reduced cost.  I hope this does not result in
being flamed on this board because it is very humbling to have to
come on here and post this.  I appreciate your understanding
and your kindness.  God bless.

Hi, I am a DSer also, 2003. We dont absorb the fat solubles just like the CFers so I have gained lots of information from one of the CF drs that I work with.
As far as vits, I understand your dilema. I find that buying my A, D, E and K separately has helped alot. I can get Dry D in 5000 or 50000 iu and dry Vit A in 25000 iu, I require large amts so these large doses have helped alot. E and K can be easily picked up. I always supplement my vits or mins separately so I can control the dosage better.
