My sister has CF and she is having a hard time getting on the list for a lung transplant. Does anyone know of who to contact to question this? She is on oxygen all the time now.

Is your sister working with a transplant team? Does the team say she is a good candidate? If she is not with a transplant team, call the nearest transplant center that is nearest to you. Tell them the insurance that your sister has and see if she can come in for an evaluation. They will ask you to get a letter from her physcian to start with. She will need her recent records and hopefully they will proceed with all of that and she will get the necessary testing done. I wish you all the best.

You can go <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://unos.org">http://unos.org</a> to find more information.

I will add something to what Emily said: Mike is always being told that his positive will and strength will do wonders for him in the recovery. HOWEVER, rejection has nothing to do with your attitude. That is what is scary. We are really excited and can't wait for the tx... He will be able to do things he hasn't done since he was a kid, or ever! But we realize that rejection could rear it's ugly head at any time. Taking his meds religiously and taking amazing care of himself is all that is in our control. Rejection is not. That is very scary to me. But I have to just hope it won't happen. Any time we have with him breathing clear and easy will be worth it to me.
