there are all sorts of statistics and data that you can search through at unos.org

i get a lot of my information there, and it seems that the age bracket of people listed for double/single lung txs that has the most people in it is the 50-65 bracket. that being said, i'm 22. you can narrow down the data fields by diagnosis, and doing it that way shows that the average listing age for pwcf is much lower than that for people with other illnesses such as copd

My son is 8 and had his tx last feb. I dont think it is age as much as condition. There are people in our clinic that are in their 60's and some as young as my son.

I was 23 when I was referred for transplant, 24 when I went for my first appointments at Cleveland Clinic (my transplant clinic) and 26 when I was transplanted.

38 is by no means too old!! I have a friend who was just transplanted in Decmeber and she will be 43 this year.
