Well I never used a 'monitor', I used the pee stick kind. I used either Clear Blue or First response, but I stuck to one brand per cycle-bc the brands do differ in how they show the response color.
I never did temps faithfully. From what I've read you really have to do temps for months and months strictly to get a real pattern. Checking cervical position never worked for me. Don't know if thats my body shape or what but I never relied on that.

In the end I relied on cervical mucus/fluid. I could eventually pinpoint the exact day and sometimes even the time of day that I would get eggwhite mucus. Thats after about 14 months of tracking. But again, the ovul kits were wrong!

Remember even if you're ovulating you have to have cm. I had plenty of months where I had hardly any, and some when I had tons. Who knows why. I think your idea to give it till the new year is a good one. Just really try to relax, bond and connect with hubby till then. Whether you stress or not about getting pregnant, it won't help your chances.

Christian I will try what you said. I am going to have sex more often (my hubby is going to love you for this lol) and using mucinex xtra stength.

</end quote>

Oh yes, my hubby loved my obgyn after she told me to do this!

As to the mucinex-you just take it every day of your cycle. You don't have to take it during your period but I just stayed on it to remind myself to take it each day.

I enjoyed using mymonthlycycle.com but also heard great things about fertilityfriend.com (I think it is). I plugged in temps and start dates of periods etc. and it helped me figure out when I was ovulating and that in fact that little ball of rubber cement I got once each month correlated with ovulation. I avoided sex during risky times for 6 months then when I thought I had it all figured out we started trying. It indicated when it was time to have sex with a bunny symbol. It suggested having sex every other day to allow sperm to build up. We had sex the day before ovulation or two days before and then the day after ovulation. That's it and we were pregnant. Both times it was missionary position and after having sex hubby swept up my legs and placed 2 pillows under my hips. We chatted while the sperm "worked" for 20 minutes. Worked for us! Oh and don't use KY - it kills sperm.

Ok I have another question.
On FF it looks like I O'd yesterday but until I enter in a couple more temps I wont get my CH's. Would you keep bding until then?
I have done what you said mamascarlett I have bd'd since cd9 and I think it has worked out really good. I think I would have missed my pre O day if I just relied on temping and the monitor. Phew this is alot of work LOL

yes it is alot of work! (not for the dude though, its just fun for him! )
He always used to call me a mad scientist with my charts, tests, etc.
Ok so since you've only begun charting you're not going to get a cycle pattern for a while.
Don't worry about that and keep bding.
Many are split between bding every day and every other day. Both of my obgyns said that unless your partner has a low sperm count, or there is an underlying problem, there is no problem in bding everyday. the benefit in doing it everday is that if you are still not 150% sure of O day and still figuring it out, you won't miss it this way.
so basically your chances of overdoing the bding and therefore having a lower sperm count are much lower than your chances of missing O bc of not pinpointing it properly.
But still I echo what I said before-RELAX! Do fun stuff with hubby, go out, really pamper yourselves and relax. Turn off your phone, whatever you have to do really let go mentally. I think that is #1.

Hi Khristina - I am not on this site much but thought I'd check in. I used to message with you on occasion @ fertilityfriend.com My user name was BrownI's.

Anyway, I'd keep BD'ing until your ovulation was confirmed through FF. You never know what your temp will be until after the fact then you may just be frustrated with not BDing. I am no longer on FF. My DH and I tried IUI's after trying for 1.5 years on our own, and we were successful after trying a medicated IUI (even though I ovulated on my own) and taking progesterone. The protocol (medicate IUI w/ progesterone) was tried for IUI's #4 and #5. We were successful on IUI #5. I also had insurance coverage so that was a blessing.

It took us a while to come to our own decision to try IUI's. We tried IUI's every other cycle once we decided to go that route. We were finally pregnant after 2 total years of TTC. Good luck to you and your husband & Best Wishes -

Mamascarlett I have been charting since I think 2007. I am only new to the monitor. I started using the monitor because I wasn't able to pinpoint my ovulation with my temps alone and I got too frustrated trying to figure out the regular opk's.
I will keep bding until FF confirms my O. But I have a feeling it may not because it never has without the monitor. I think my temps are to inconsistent.
Wow Chrisitna I am soooo happy for you and your hubby to finally have been successful at this!! Congrats!! Back when we would message on FF my hubby changed his mind and wanted to stop trying but now we are back in the game again. But I am getting pointers from the experienced Cysters on here .
Did you have a boy or girl?
