I live in the US (but I went to school at the University of Limerick for a semester!) My sister's fiance has cousins in Ireland with CF. His name is Denis Collins.

Does having Irish Heretage count?
My mother's maiden name was O'Loughlin, and my dad's mother's maiden name (my grandma) was Fitzgerald. I saw an old photo of my Grandpa with one of his cousins when he visited Ireland about 10 or 15 years ago, so I think he was only a first generation American. Despite my name being more German-ish (Merz), I seem to realize I have more Irish in me than German!

I don't know of any Irish heritage I have. It's possible it's there, but if it is, it's VERY minimal. I'm mostly German and Welsh.

Yeah its true! Its really common thing to hear. My friend's cousins are Canadian, and have never lived in Ireland, but still call themselves Irish, and say 'hey we're coming home!' everytime they visit!

Shamrock, x
