I did not bank my son's blood and won't bank this baby's either. The chances of us needing it are so remote and it is very expensive. Additionally I believe that the cord blood belongs to the baby and it is best to let the cord stop pulsing before it it cut (which I'm pretty sure means it will be too coagulated to collect). Recent studies have shown improvement in iron stores in the baby when delayed cord cutting is practiced.
If I was going to collect it I'd probably just donate it.
