Anyone culturing haemophilus?

Avery just got her throat culture results back and they were positive for a moderate growth of MRSA and light growth of Haemophilus. MRSA we have had for a year, but the Haemophilus is new.

The doc said the haemophilus was not anything to be worried about right now because avery is doing so well. (Same response for MRSA)

However I did some research on Haemophilus and of course it looks a little scarey. I realize everyones response to bacterias is different and depends on many factors but I am curious about your experiences with it if any.

So here are my questions:
Do any of you have this bacteria? Has it complicated your CF?

Thanks.

My daughter 5wcf cultured it for the first time in October. The sheet said "no treatment required" but she was on Day 7 of Augmentin when the culture results were final so that may be why. I think HI can come and go and that it isn't considered to be as serious or threatening as MRSA, PA or B Cepacia, even less threatening than Staph Aureus I believe. I will definately inquire about it on Wednesday at her follow-up.

DS cultured this for the first couple years, when he also had more sinus issues -- seemed to have a stuffy, yellow boogery nose from day one. When his doctor started him on zithromax, he mentioned that it would most likely take care of it. He hasn't cultured it since.

That is interesting Liza, bc my daughter started taking abx for a sinus infection the day she was cultured, which ended up growing HI. Wonder if it can make them more prone to it?
