Does anyone else cough up blood a few times in a week (I'm not at all sick)? They are usually small bleeds. I just find it wierd that it keeps on happening.

when you say it keeps on happening....what do you mean? How long has this been happening, just recently? Have you ever mentioned it to your doctor? How much...less than a tsp. or more like tablespoons? Sorry for all the questions<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Blood is something to take seriously; however, it is not that unusual and not something to freak out about. You should let your doctor know..you may have an infection brewing and you want to find out what is going on. Some CFers tend to bleed close to their menstrual cycle. My advice would be to let your doc know...don't ignore it. Some on this site would suggest going to the ER if you are getting a mouthful or so of blood. Some of us discuss with our docs what to do about coughing up blood ahead of time before it happens. My doc and I have decided that I should go to the ER if it happens outside of his working hours. Please keep us posted.

I bleed often too. Sometimes it's a moderate amount (I've never had a BAD bleed). My bleeding can be triggered by coughing, laughing, hitting waves w/the boat, sneezing, heck- probably just breathing! hahaha
I can't always figure out why I bleed, I just do. My hospital (after years, not kidding YEARS) finally listened to me that bleeding does not equal sickness for me. They would always give me IV's when I'd bleed...but that was all the time. They finally decided I was right and just let me go now!

Good luck w/it, it's so annoying at times! Like when I can't lay down flat!!
