We're from Tulsa, Oklahoma and considering a move to Omaha due to the short bowel my son is being treated for (his intestinal rehab team is there), and we've had good experience with the CF team there so far, but wanted to hear more opinions, possibly from adults who were treated there as children, or if you were treated at Children's please chime in too! Thanks!

Hi Jen,

I've gone to UNMC since I was diagnosed 29 years ago at 3 months old. I really like the pediatric team, so much so that I've been reluctant to transition to the adult team. I actually have my first appt. with the adult team on Wednesday, so as of right now I'm still a peds patient.

I've always been happy with the care that I receive. I feel like they let me play a role in my care and listen to my thoughts/concerns/ideas. The nurse always responds to my call/email the same day, often within the hour. In the rare instance she is not available another member of the team takes or returns my call shortly.

That's a short synopsis. I'm gonna try to keep it short, because I tend to go on and on!

If you have any specific questions/concerns I can definitely try to help more.

Take care and good luck with your decision.

I Anyone go to UNMC docs in Omaha?

I love the CF team here in Omaha. I have went to them all my 36 years of life. I too was one of the hold outs to transition but was forced to in November but have been very impressed with the adult team so far.
