I did one of those "meal assembly" things called Dream Dinners (they are in NY and NJ too). It was fun, but a little pricy. You do have to put all the ingredients together when you get home, much like cooking something from a recipe. It's not just there all ready to eat when you take it out of the container, although everything is pre-sliced and chopped accordingly.

We have one of those places too.. I can't think of the name of it for the life of me. My friend gets food from there all the time. It's pretty good. A little pricer though I think than getting all of the items yourself, but you don't have to cook it! Just heat it up. Can't think of the name of it though!

unfortunatly i live so far away, i loved to cook for other people. What i do a lot are "crepes" you can freez them, and you can put whatever you like inside, salty or sweat and every ove loves it.
and omelletes of any veg (my daughter lives it). I think that we have really different habit in the kitchen and use to different taste, but if i can give you any recipe please let me know.
i suggest you to see if you have any budget for hire someone, go to a university, search for the foreign married students, and ask them (probably men) what are there wife doing in the day. I am sure nothing because they don´t have money, ask them if they know how to cook, and you will see that your dream will came true.
