I have a terrible reaction to the inhaled collistin - it makes me cough so violently that there's no way much of it stays in my lungs and typically I end up vomitting my hard-earned calories up as well. Bad deal. So I don't use it any more, although I can still take the TOBI and the Pulmozyme. I had another friend who was having collistin reactions and her doctor reduced the concentration, and then she was able to use it with great success. My general feeling is that there are other ways to get the antibiotics...if you're really short of breath, coughing, or wheezing when you try to inhale them then find another way. Why make treatments into torture?
