I was just wondering if anyone takes them.. ??

I was driving to work this morning and I got sucked into an infomercial on the radio about Omega 3.... They made it sound so logical and like DUhhh everyone should take them.. They made them sound like they are great for joint pain, brain cells, memory and inflamation.. so I ordered a bttle......

Any thoughts.. am I a sucker.. or has anyone seen beneficial results from it?

I take flax seed oil, and dha. I think it's been helping, you need to be careful with what brands you take though. I am planning to eventually switch from flax seed to a fish oil for my omega 3's. What brand did you get?

HI Jennifer

My son is on Omega 3 fishoil. There has been some research (dont know where, sorry!!!...hearsay!) that supports the notion that omega 3 reduce inflammation in pwcf. According to our dietition, it takes about 3-6 months for it to work its way through to the cells. You should take afairly high dose, but I dont know what it is, sorry. Sam just takes one capsule a day or your average fishoil from the chemist etc.

I could get the bottle but im too lazy!! Okay, I went and got it...one capsule contains 1000mg of fishoil, which provides 120mg DHA & 180 mg EPA. I think he should be taking a bout 3 a day to obtain max. benefit, but that could be wrong. The suggesed adult dose is three caps a day (note: I am in Australia). You should take extra enzymes with the fish *oil*.
PS. I actually think flaxseed oil is better than fishoil, and has higher omega 3?

HI,

I ordered Purity Omega Berry Oil.. Just go to Purityproducts.com

They recommended about 2000 mgs a day, and to double that for the first month.. I guess I am so desprate to feel better that I will do anything...I got a special radio offer deal.. All I had to pay was for the shipping and handling...

I am now currently going heavy on the vitamins in spite of my last hissy fit about how much money I have to spend on my medications... In the past week I have spent over two hundred dollars on Vitamins and supplements.....

I bought my CF Vitamins from CF Source.. Vitamins ABDEK which I have been out of forever because I can tolerate paying so much money for them...
and I also bought Probotics and Critcal Care acidophlis... ..and now fish oil with berries in it???? the more I think about it the grosser it sounds but we will see...

I also am on high doses of steroids right now to see if I can bump myself up over this hurdle....so far it is a good sign.. It is 8 30 at night and I am still awake....

IS the DHA and the EPA the fatty fish oil part of the vitamin?

We use it for Ben and the whole family. It is a huge help in reducing inflammation. CFer and actually carriers too, have a skewed fatty acid profile (meaning a tendency to produce more of the type which lead to inflammation- Arachadonic Acid), so it makes sense.

I have studies and resources listed here: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.cfnutrition4life.com/cfnu/articles.php?cat_id=6

We use Nordic Naturals Strawberry gel tabs and add to applesauce or smoothies. We also eat ground flax seeds.

Oh that makes sense.. My parents take OMega 3 and I was so confused by the bottle because it said 300 mgs of fish oil but that each pill was 1000 mgs....so now I understand that they must be getting it from other things..

As a side note.. I took a few of their fish oil pills and all I can say is .. lesson of the day.. ENZYMES are Mandatory with this pill.. at least for me.. anyway... I reacted to this like I just ate a whole pizza or something...

Thanks for your replies, links, etc.... I use flax seed oil on my salad a few times a week...

Now to find a calcium pill that I can tolerate.. The chew hurt my teeth, the pills make me want to vomit... and there is no way I can tolerate drinking 2000 mgs of calcium a day...
