Hi,

I'm the Mom of a son who entered rehab 8/18 for alcohol and percocet-addiction (which he was getting on the street - not through his doc). His rehab was preceded by an 11-day hospitalization for his declining lungs (his first hospitalization). My son has been suffering from depression for the past year ++ - a condition his CF doctor says affects up to 50% of adults with CF. It's a by product of the disease that the CF centers are - fortunately - starting to treat.

Getting addiction treated is critical if you're planning a lung transplant. It's probably the real reason my son is in treatment today - he wants to have the choice - when the day comes - to get on a transplant list.

CFSue - you may be reading this response having just finished your rehab program. If so, how did it go?

One day at a time - right!
My best,
