Anyone with single mutation w/CF symptoms?

I'm fairly certain I have seen a documented medical study showing carrier sinus symptoms in those with a single delta F 508 gene.

Don't think I kept the link ... so I can't really put my money where my mouth is at the moment.

Yes, he's been tested for celiac disease (2 antigliadin panels and tested for the genes as well as a non-celiac gluten sensitivity gene - all were normal). He's been tested for all common food allergies (he is allergic to peanuts).

I'm going to have to find a pancreatic specialist who will take me seriously. I like the local GI, but I can already tell he is only going to take us so far. I took my son half-way across the country to get his apraxia diagnosed...I guess I'll be taking another trip to get this taken care of.

Thanks for everyone who have replied - this is all so new to me.

I just wanted to mention that I was diagnosed with CF symptomaticaly as they could only find one of my genes at first. I was treated this way for 2-3 years before the technology advanced that they could find my other mutation as it had just become 'official' and added to the panel so that is one possibility.

The second issue being carrier symptoms which I strongly believe in. My family too has alot of isssues with asthma allergies sinusitis bronchitis and monstrous amounts of diabetes type 1 and type 2 in healthy individuals. I havent heard of carrier symptoms in the way of digestion like you are describing.

I am so happy to hear you are such an advocate on your sons part. Go get em! and let us know. I wish the best for your son and your family.

Like they discovered the gene that causes CF, there is also a gene that causes asthma, it has hee haw to do with any CF mutation someone may have.
It would more than likely be that a gene also causes other diseases, my genetic couselor said to me that all people in the world have at least 200 mutations.
It is merely coincidence that carriers show various signs
