Are we doing enough CPT?

When we started doing CPT, our daughter cultured no bugs and had no respiratory symptoms at all. We were doing it just to get her used it and to make it a natural part of our lives so that once it was needed to actually move stuff out we were already off and running. Eventually, by the time she really did need it, we got the Vest, which makes it much easier. My point is, maybe at two years old frequency and duration of treatments isn't the most important thing, unless of course it's not a prophylactic treatment and she really needs the therapy.

Many children start using the vest much younger than three years old. Thirty minutes twice a day. I'd demand it at your next visit (but that's just me). I don't like to ask permission! Good luck!

I agree, based on comments in terms of what others are doing for CPT, as well as the CFF guidelines, I'd be much more assertive at your next clinic appointment. IMO, 5 minutes a day, 5 times a week is nowhere near enough -- especially when you indicated that your daughter has a juicier cough when she jumps on the neighbors trampoline. Our CF team prefer there be NO cough at this age.

Ours too. Emily's baseline coughing ONLY while doing her CPT and it's generally not too productive. If she develops a cough, we are to increase her CPT until she's been back to her baseline for several days. They do not want us to be passive about any cough or congestion (we add sinus rinses for congestion in addition to increased CPT.)
