I am always hopeful!!! Why live any other way. Hope is a choice and it beats the heck out of the alternative<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> I am on one of the new inhaled antibiotics, Aztreanam Lysine, and it is fabulous. Such a breakthrough therapy for the younger generation. It takes less than 2 minutes to do the treatment. So cool! I'd also like to say that my FEV1 is poor by most standards and I am still enjoying every day. My daughter and I went on a two mile hike yesterday and we are all going to the circus today. What's not to love. Yes, I'll continue to hope and hope and hope cuz I've already seen more than I could have imagined in my 40 years.

You have to have hope. I didn't bring my little girl into this world to bury her, she is suppose to bury my wife and I. I work in the pharmaceutical industry in diabetes and I feel it is very possible in the next few years that CF will be managed just like diabetes. Just look at where diabetes was many years ago and where it is today.

We spoke with a therapist at our clinic a month ago and he told us they think of CF as a manageable condition (like diabetes or severe asthma). I found it comforting to hear that and hopeful about the future.
