Good Morning! Abby and I just finished a feeding and I thought I would take a moment and update you all on her!

Things are looking and going VERY WELL. We are tremendously blessed that things are going so well. We had her first weigh-in at her pediatrician's office yesterday (Thursday). She has lost some weight (weighed in at 6 lbs 4 oz) and he said that is normal for breastfed babies and that he won't worry until day 10 of her being with us. Also, she has jaundice, which we fought with Lucy, but we are treating it with aggressive breastfeeding (not sure how much more "agressive" we can get...:) ) and sunlight. He wants her to begin gaining weight by day 14 and if she hasn't, we'll need to start thinking in other directions. Dr. "Bill" (as we call him) has been fabulous. He thinks she's perfect for a newborn and has given us strict orders to call him on his cell phone if she does anything that seems unusual for an infant respiratory or digestive wise. So far, we have had no reflux issues, no BM issues, and no respiratory issues.

She has passed 12 meconium filled diapers since Tuesday afternoon. Yea! And we are waiting for her "normal" poop to come in so Dave can drive it up to Atlanta to the CF clinic so we can have it evaluated for her "pancreatic suffiency" stuff and to see if she will need enzymes (my spelling is really off since it is 5 am here...sorry!). I've sent an email to one of the nurses at the clinic in Atlanta with some questions about when they want to see Abby and what I need to do to start coordinating care between them and our pediatrician who has made it clear that he'll do what is in Abby's best interest to keep her healthy!

I'm feeling better than I did yesterday (Wednesday). Dave is so precious, he fusses at me for doing too much. I just have a hard time not being able to take care of myself and asking for help. I'm glad I have him to keep me straight. :)

Abby is beyond precious and she is a pleasure to have in our home. Lucy adores her so that is a tremendous relief. She has started begging to hold Abby until she cries, then we get a precious little look from Lucy...GET THIS BABY OFF ME!

Thank you all for everything. We are plugging along, trying to get back to "normal" around here. I'm hoping I can go back to sleep for a few more hours before we have to go to my follow-up OB visit at 9 AM.

I've attached from photos from yesterday (Wednesday) and our arrival home. We didn't make any pics today (Thursday) since we were running all over creation trying to make all of our follow up appointments. I'm going to try to get some more done today (Friday). As you can tell, I'm a little confused about the day since I am up in the wee hours of the morning
