Okay, so we just recently found out my 10 month old daughter has significant asthma <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0">( She has bad wheezing. She just did 8 days in the hospital on IV steroids and abx (after my 5 year old did 10 days the prior week UGH).
Problem is...we are home now, almost off the steroids and about to cut back on treatments (well supposed to) and she is still wheezing, coughing, and congested w/ a hoarse voice at times. She is on a duo neb that usually seems to help the wheezing for a while (atrovent and albuterol mixed) She has also started Pulmocort and has been doing it twice daily. Along with her other normal meds.
Now, I have had a sinus infection, are they contagious? I am not sure where this cough is coming from in her...Can't take anymore doctors!!!!!!!!! Aahhhh!! Putting off calling them unless things get worse...What would you do? I am hoping things will clear up! We have spent 18 days total this past month in the hospital. I CAN"T take anymore!!

I am looking for any advice on what your child might take for asthma and if he/she has alot of wheezing problems? She does not wheeze while sleeping or content, it is very much triggered to her activity, which is ALOT. She is very active! Any advice would be helpful for when I DO have to call the doc!

My daughter has a tendency to wheeze, her doctor prescribed her Flovent twice a day which really helped. We later switched her to Q-Var though because it doesn't make her as jittery. We also run air purifiers in every room of our house. Haven't had her allergy tested yet, but my son is allergic to dust mites so we are assuming she is too and bought all the protective bedding. Also, we keep the stuffed animals to a bare minimum. The ones you can't toss can be put in a plastic baggie and placed in the freezer 24hrs to kill the dust mites.
I don't know about a sinus infection being contagious, but my son gets them and Reagans never 'caught it'. He does the Neil Med sinus rinses and they really help him.
I hope you all are feeling better soon!
