azithromycin for little ones

DS has been on zithromax since he was 2 1/2. Once a day liquid suspension. One of the pluses is that it got rid of the h. flu he always cultured since he was an infant. Now that he's older he takes a tablet every other day.

We've never ever gotten accurate chest xrays from the local cf clinic -- which showed thickening, infiltration; however, ct and nuclear lung scans have shown a much better picture and did NOT show any of the issues that the xrays supposedly showed.

The one thing that I absolutely love about this site is that this is the one place that people have an understanding about how hard life can sometimes be with CF. Thank you for the encouragement. This is a long hard road, but I thank my loving God for each of the precious days that I get to walk on this road with my precious baby. Thank you all again,

my older boys take it, they are 5 and 6. MWF. It is an antibiotic and it decreases inflammation. no unwanted side effects.... my youngest's pfts kept declining, after last hopstial admit this was added and he seems to stay stable. can't say if it was just the admit or a combination of adding this. either way... it can't hurt... only another drug that will help even our lil ones.

I don't know how you do it with 3 kiddos that all have cf. WOW! We have food allergies in all our kids( the cf kiddo has life threatening ones) and cf and I think this road is tough with only one of my kiddos with cf.
