I just finished 4 weeks of bactrim (pill and a half x2 day) and my most bothersome side effect was a racing mind.

my reccommendations that might help your other side affects:
limit caffeine and drink lotsss ofwater... even though you probably are already, just to reiterate <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I am on Bactrim for 2 weeks every month. I have a ton of side effects but keep taking it because is works on the infection. I get itching for the first few days, aches, headaches, fatigue, fevers, hot flashes and restless sleep. I take advil or tylonyl to halp with the side effects. i just took my last dose for 2 weeks. Yeah.

Bactrim DS is what my doctors put me on whenever my stats start to dip (unless they are low enough for a PICC). With Batrim DS I usually am pretty woozy the first few days, and get a lot of thrush in my mouth by the last few days.
However, I've been put on (from what I was told) a generic (or maybe just similar thing TO) Batrim DS called... something like Sulphamathoxazole, and with that I got the exact same symptoms you are describing. I would literally be sick the first few days, JUST like I have the flu. It passes within a few days usually, but the 2-4th or 3-5th ish days, I'm usually pretty much bedridden.
