Bad asthma during pregnancy

Hi Sunflower,
I am steroid dependant I have been on them constantly (for my asthma) for so many years now my adrenal glands have fiborized (spl) over and wont kick back in when I reduce down. The lowest I can get is 5mg my maintenance dose. I was on this until 3 month with my first pregnancy and then went up the last month i was on 40/50/60mg and then IV Hydrocortisone abi was fine they checked her sugars for the first few days and she had special blood tests but all was fine. I am 12 weeks into my second pregnancy and am on 5mg haven't been up yet will just have to wait and see how it goes. Both my pregnancies have been closely monitored by my team and I have not gone against them in getting pregnant while on steroids.

I have ABPA and I had this problem with my white cell count in 1989 when I did culture Aspergillius and problem with Wcell in 2003 but, this seems to be on going the last two yrs approx. Everytime they reduce the steroids white cells go up. My doctor said I was find to have a baby go ahead with it my FEV1'S are 84%-88%. He will take me off the steroids but, reckons they will go through the ceiling. I have my crash helmet on and going to go through with it and I really want this baby!! You understand...<img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">
