Bek has Strep throat

Just curious. Is Children's Mercy Urgent Care Center considered a CF center? I've been lurking around these forums from the start and I agree with the responses. Things can change so quickly. I would hope they know what has been said here and aren't too casual with the strep throat dx because "all the kids" encounter that. Bek isn't like "all the kids" in that respect and the clinic should know you know so that they are more careful and thoughtful when Bek is being seen. Hope the Amoxicillin is working.

One thing I would be very concerned with, is a comment DS' doctor made when he was first diagnosed regarding strep and how it if left untreated it can damage, destroy lung tissue in a very short period of time. I would discuss this with your cf clinic next time you have a regular appointment in terms of what you should ask for in the future if this happens and you end up at an urgent care or regular pediatrician/family practice clinic.

Hope she's doing better now!

My daughter 11 W cf has had Step two times this year. both time she had 10 days of antibiotics. One shot will not clear it up. I hope you child is doing better. My Pedi doc. said she has seen a very high number of strep cases this year. It's been a bad winter..

Also my daughter had to get 5 different set of tube in her ears when she was little, but she has alot of sinus problems. I can't say what is normal or not but this is the first year she has had strep throat. hope every things get better soon
