(coming from an almost 19-year-old). We had a a guest baby in class the other day for observation--cutest thing ever, but the child of young, irresponsible parents who had essentially made this child a Shaken Baby. Brain damage, cerebral palsy, the whole 9 yards. I'll get off my soap box now.</end quote> In that case if you are unemployed and you cant afford a baby you are not ready to have sex???? Come on!! sex is a lot more than a way to get pregnant!!!</end quote>
I'm meaning more from a responsability-issue POV, but even in that case (unemploymen), you better be hella careful and have a plan. Older adults will be able to get their ***** together in the face of something like that much more than a young adult, and that's cold hard fact, not anecdotal.

i am pretty outdone at what is being said to you. to answer your question about birthcontrol, as you are responsible for even planning your sex. many people dont even do that, and if an accidental pregnancy happens, im sure you will do fine and not shake your baby. many pregnancies are unexpected and do not end in child abuse...what the heck? i dont do well with hormones in birth control so my doctor wants me to consider one that inserts like morena however is totally hormone free, im sorry i tossed the flyer and the name of it escapes me. it is safe, healthy, and carries the same effectivity. i know cfers take enough medicines that alter things in the body, its worth a talk with the obgyn to see if birth control can just be simple. maybe you can just search hormone free birth contol. and good luck, i wish you and your boyfriend a terrific experience.

I've been looking at this question for several years and have ongoing discussions with the endocrinologist at our CF Center. She likes to avoid hormonal methods for women with CF and recommends the copper IUD - Paragard. Condoms are also good for women with CF.

Please remember that you are fertile and that pregnancy is possible; be careful.
