My Mothers cooking/baking....

The year that my oldest sister started working, she bought us all so many presents .. I got Barbie,Ken, The Barbie doll house, the Barbie car , doll clothes and more.. I will never forget it , it was wonderful...

A more recent tradition, Christmas morning we open our presents, and then all get in the car, pj's, slippers and go to my MIL's house for breakfast (she lives about 5 minutes away) but it's funny to see a bunch of ppl leaving the house like that.... Merry Christmas joni

I guess i am going to sound like such a downer when i say this but, i liked it best when i was a kid and my parents were together and i was almost perfectly healthy. No coughing, no lung troubles at all, i could run a marathon without being winded .... ALL i had to worry about was what santa was bringing my brother and i. I miss those days big time and i remember them well.

Mine definately include being with my family. Every year a new memory is made, another disaster happens (like my papa cooking the turkey too long and falling as he transfered it from the stove to the plate) and just talking and laughing for hours.

There's something to be said about the warmth of a home, and your family on Christmas. Not just the physical warmth from the oven, but the warmth and love you feel from being with the people who mean the most in the world to you. I love taking too many pictures, eating too much, and laughing too hard. I treasure the memories from my nana and papa's farm as a kid of going tobagganing, visiting the cats in the barn, and snowmobiling on Christmas Day. I treasure the pain of touching my nana's ancient Christmas lights on her tree and burning my fingers. I smile at the memories of my Grandma staying with us for Christmas and bringing tons of baking with her. I miss her love and laughter and her awesomely knitted socks that would make us fall on the hardwood floor. She may have passed away but she's still with us on Christmas.

I love spending the days before Christmas with my friends, just relaxing and having a good time w/o any academic commitments. I love the freedom. I love it all.

I guess my most favourite part (next to presents!) is Christmas breakfast. I love making it and having everyone enjoy it. I love the smells in the kitchen and everything!

I've had 11 years worth of uneventfull Christmases. Because of that, I'm not clear as to what my last year of Christmas with my family was, other than enjoying a new years game with my dad when we went to see the Detroit Red Wings play the LA Kings on New Year's Eve.
The 11 years was with the ex, so that would explain a lot!
The last two years was with the new wife, and we already had done different things for Christmas....what's it gonna be for this year, I wonder...
Though like Diane, I also enjoyed my childhood Christmases, many enjoyable ones. My parents are still alive and together, but since moving out here, I haven't spent a Christmas with family in nearly 15 years...hope to be able to have the money to do that someday...
