On the other hand, I remember getting teased in school quite a few times for my powerful bowels (not because I passed out a brochure, because I had the ability to stink up the bathroom and sometimes the adjoining hallway). I think it's a good idea to be specific with this information so teachers will know what's going on.

Also, I found my life became a lot easier when I stopped being so self-conscious about my CF. On the very rare occasion that somebody actually makes my bowel movements a focus in their life, I can just brush it off, rather than being constantly mortified because I'm imagining everyone is focusing on my bowel movements.

As adults, we are well-equipped to be practical. Young people are not good at not being self-absorbed. I do not think it serves any purpose to "embarass the crap" out of any young person, no pun intended<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Yes, let's inform all teachers that the raging stink in the hallway is little Johnny. You know there are a lot of teachers who are not well equipped to handle ANY information. I can just see a teacher bringing it to the attention of the whole class and excusing little Johnny for his stinky. You better believe there are teachers out there that don't have good judgement in that regard!! For every 10 good ones there is 1 "crappy" one and that's the one the CF-er will remember. I remember the few "kind" announcements that were made on my behalf as a child were definately better left unsaid, burned in my brain, and served no purpose.
