Great. I am a licensed veterinary technician and have two birds. They live in the basement of our house because we didn't want any animals around our son with CF, but the doctors know we have them and never made any mention of a problem. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> I never even thought about the aspergillosis!

I wouldn't imagine that as a parent of a kid with cf, working outside the home with animals would present a problem. I am sure you wash your hands well before leaving and don't wear the protective clothes you wear around the animals into the house.

As far as the birds you own... of course the easy answer is 'get rid of the birds' as with the case of other possible dangers (of which there are countless ones everywhere, remember) but... do they stay in the cage or do you let them out to fly around in the room? If they stay in the cage (where their poop would be confined) and the cage is cleaned frequently (and maybe consider adding a hepa air filter to the room) that might make a big difference in this situation. I'd imagine the worst issue when it comes to this would be if the person with respiratory illness or cf had to clean the cage or was handling the bird directly.
