Bloated- Help!

I know this sounds odd, but lots of hot cocoa- sugar free for me- (and the gas x <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> ) helps me when I get like that. Also, increasing my liquids intake, and having things like chicken noodle or cream of chicken soup, (warm, lots of liquids, and pretty filling) instead of my regular meals for a couple of times help to get things going, too. I would say walking, but I know your hip hurts...tummy rubs help me too. I hope you are feeling better soon!

Thanks!! I have done the tummy rubs and massive amounts of water. The bloating is a bit better this afternoon but still slow and delayed in the bathroom department. I hate being icky in the tummy.

We are going shopping tonight, I will grab some Gas-X at the store. I am also going to lay off the dairy for a few days (especially the eggs and cheese).

They sell Miralax over the counter and that stuff works very nicely. Try it for 10 days or people with CF can even take it daily. I take as needed. But it is really good stuff and you can mix it with any beverage and it has no taste. IT makes you go so stay on it till you go and then stay on it longer to regulate you a bit like the 10 days mentioned above. Go off and see how you feel.

Feel better!

The OTC gas stuff has never worked for me. There was an article in the most recent Reader's Digest about stomach issues. It was interesting to read, though didn't tell me anything I didn't know. It did mention that the gas stuff really doesn't work, and it recommended that pre-emptive stuff was a better way to to go that after-the-fact stuff. It also said NOT to drink water with meals, (odd, I know) but to drink water separately.

Here's a little remedy I read in my husband's "Action Here Survival Guide" about how to deal with gas. Beware, it's weird, but it worked for me!!

Get down on your hands and knees, and rock back and forth so that you're almost touching your but to your heels at some point. I know, it's weird, but it squeezes the gut enough to push things through.

Hang in there. I feel your tummy pain!
