My son, who is 7 months old, has also been having a very hard time passing stools... when I mentioned it at the clinic they recommended Miralax mixed with his bottle, and it has worked very well <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Prune juice or prunes never seemed to work for us. Being that it wasn't a constant issue, our CF doctor recommended using Milk of Mag from time to time. If it had become more of an issue, then I'm sure we'd have done things differently. But for us it worked for those times.

One thing we had to deal with was poop holding. DS associating stooling with pain or didn't like having messy pants (especially when we were still figuring out the enzyme issue), so he'd hold it in, which caused even more problems -- big ginourmous stools. He'd cry, I'd cry....

We've had problems like this with Kasey (7) and went through a clean out using the max dose of Miralax every day. But now we give her Miralax 3-4 times week and Colase 50 mg. daily to keep stools soft.

Also, we have found that a probiotic each day helps ALOT. When we skip the probiotic, she has trouble pretty quickly. We use Jarro-Dphilus EPS from Whole Foods. Not cheap but worth it. Hang in there- this is soooo tough-
Take care,
Lisa G.
