BLOOD SUGAR

I would see if your doctor can either order a meter for random home checks or do a glucose tolerance test. She should have a glucose tolerance test every year anyway. Frequent urination is the first sign many times but I hope it was just a fluke.

She may have just been getting used to drinking water. If you dont usually drink three bottles of water and some soda, it has to go somewhere.

I think its from slight dehydration. Even tho she drank 3 16 oz waters. She did drink sodas which would have taken away some of the benefits of the water she drank. In addition it was freaking hot/humid so the weather might have done more then you realize. Push the waters & keep an eye on things to see if it continues. I dont think it would show up quite so suddenly IMHO unless something went really haywire with her sugars, but I would think she would be lethargic & maybe have lung issues as well! Hope its nothing....

Glucose Tolerance Tests need to be done once a year.

says www.cff.org "As people with cystic fibrosis get older, their risk of getting diabetes increases. With CF, scarring often occurs in the pancreas, which produces insulin for the body. This scarring sometimes prevents insulin from getting into the blood and could lead to diabetes. CF Foundation-accredited care centers regularly check each patient for diabetes, usually once a year."

If her last one was about a year ago, get it done again just to be safe.

A lot can change with the pancreas in just a year.....
