Boiling nebs?

I have never boiled my bf's neb cups, and parts before. He just got a new sidestream nebulizer so I looked at the directions which recommend boiling before the first use. Well I washed that and his tobi pari nebulizer parts with dish soap and hot water, then rinsed and well and put in a pot of boiling water for ten minutes. I took them out and set out to dry and they arecovered in a powdery white substance. Now I dont know what to do with them? I don't want to just rinse them off and get them all unsanitary again...

im gonna try boiling them again with a fresh pot of water and see what happens... im wondering if its build up from the meds, or maybe minerals in the water...

I think it's most likely mineral deposits from the boiled water. I had the same problem, so I started using a baby bottle steam sterilizer with distilled water. Vinegar may help remove the deposits.

Happened to us when our water softener went out or when we need to buy softener salt. I rinse them in vinegar before washing them and then I boil them.

I boil all my nebs in water an add just a cap full of vinager..that white stuff that you speak of is from your water being hard water I have used my nebs with that white powder stuff on it and with no side affects or harm to my lungs.. So just add the vinager when you boil the nebs and it will be fine.....

I reboiled another pot of water, withut the nebs, and white stuff was all over the pot, so you are right its the minerals. i cleaned all the nebs again and boiled them in distilled water... But I can use regular tap water with vinegar and they wont come out with residue on them???
