I just have to brag for a minute.
My son w/hemophilia must have IV infusions 2x/week to replace the clotting factor that is missing. We normally alternate between his port & perphial depending on his moode.
Well last night, at the ripe old age of 8, my son started an IV in his own hand for the 1st time. He had some minor help from mom, mostly to keep him from blowing the vein, but otherwise he did it himself.
So not only am I proud of him, I'm amazed at what people are able to adapt to when life throws you a curve.
Meanwhile, I dare anyone here to offer to start your next IV (I can start IV's in him but can't get a good stick on myself)!
