Thanks for all the advice!

Caroline, your boys definitely look healthy.

Christian, how did you get your milk tested? Did your doctor request tests or what? Because when I talked to my doctor he recommended that I get my milk tested for fat content and when I asked him how I could go about doing that he said I could get a grant.

Anyway, Alex' weight is rising and my FEV1 went up from 66% two days after pregnancy to 72%. Only 8% more until I'm back to my prepregnancy FEV1.

hi jeana,
sorry bad news-i paid for it out of pocket and it cost alot....i can't remember exactly (it was a while ago)-I'll dig up the papers tomorrow but it was around $300. it was through a lactation center so no insurance coverage.

i will tell you-i paid this bc we were ok financially at the time and i was so worked up about my milk being sufficient, even though everyone said it was fine. it was basically like throwing away a few hundred dollars.
the best person to talk to would be your baby's pediatrician. they should be gauging if the baby's getting enough nutrition.

google a local lactation center. they can help you perhaps.
and before you spend money on tests, or lactation centers i'd seriously check out kellymom.com. they are trained lactation nurses and their advice is the best. better than pediatricians or our cf docs. all they do is breastfeeding and milk testing.
you can read info there, and post a question to one of the nurses. they will research it and get back to you.

again though-all studies are saying that our milk is fine. your lungs are doing incredible! wow! and baby is thriving-honey...just keep doing what you're doing and enjoy that baby. there's an old saying-if it isn't broke don't fix it....<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
