Bronchial Dilators pre HTS or TOBI

I have been doing some research on inhaled medications and have noticed that in many of he studies, the participants use a bronchial dilator before inhaling the HTS or antibiotic. So that got me thinking...is that a better way to do it then just doing the HTS/antibiotic "straight"? I asked Gess and he has never done a bronchial dilator pre treatments before. He only uses abuterol as a rescue inhaler--so nothing done regularly. Do any of you use bronchail dilators before HTS or abx?

I think most (NOT all tho) use some type of bronchial dialtor before HTS or Tobi (or other antibiotic). Some use the inhalers & some use it via neb.

Much depends on how the patient reacts. For me I need it to open up my airways because I do have reactive airways. IMHO everyone should use something because the more your airways are open, the more the HTS or Tobi can get down in there.


So much depends on the doctor/clinic. I know that Terri's Granddaughter didnt use any neb in addition to her vest. Now she is on Tobi which is her first neb. Again, depending on the person, but IMHO as a rule it helps.

I am wondering if doing it would help him feel a bit better in general also. Sometimes it opens things just enough to make a difference for the rest of the day or even for my appetite. Your appetite goes down if you cant breath.

Hope I answered some ??, but others will chime in soon.
