we went cabin camping last weekend. We didn't end up having a fire but we talked to Lili ahead of time about the smoke. I personally am going to let her sit near a campfire but will make sure the smoke is going the other way.

We own a seasonal site at a campground in Pennsylvania, and have been going there since Emily was born 5 years ago. I asked her doctor about this exact thing and he said to make sure she's not there when you are first building a fire or putting one out. In those instances there is excess smoke. Once the fire is going strong, it shouldn't be much of an issue.

Ask your doctor though. I'm sure they all have differing opinions.

We go camping every year and always have a camp fire. My son just sits away from the smoke and we watch if it starts changing direction. We have a generator for camping without electric but we normally stay at campgrounds with electric and sewer (we have a camper). Kelly
