Can a CF patient (baby) eat to much????

Ry was the same as Emily. He'd get incredibly pissed off, they couldn't figure out what was wrong with him, fed him and voila!! happy baby!

You're VERY lucky that your CFer is the "eat it all" type. Ry was the same way, it's much easier.

I know Vinny's doctors wouldn't see any harm it at all! I'd say unless they were really concerned about him being very overweight (most CF docs would prefer you have a few extra pounds) then let him eat up!

When Vinny was in the baby food stage, he also drank four or five 6-8 oz. bottles a day (I'd say 32-40 oz a day). Plus jarred foods and any finger foods we gave him. I had a very hard time spoon feeding him though, I swear it seemed like he didn't trust me and thought I'd give him Creon!

I'm jealous. Was always a struggle to get DS to eat. He had better things to do as an infant and could've care less about bottles, baby food.... Nowdays he's better.

I dont knw if this applies to everyone, but as a kid I was like that. Over the years my appetite has decreased. I struggle to eat when I am sick and my weight is always on constant watch. I say enjoy it while he has it. If down the line his weight actually is more then what they consider a healthy weight then address it at this time. ON another note tho....CFers have been known for their massive appetites so be sure he is getting the most from his food. If his body isnt getting the most, it might explain the "extra" desire for more to eat. Just a thought!

for the first year i think i was eating like a normal baby but as i got older my hungry went lower and lower. so yes it is possible for a CF baby to eat normal, or better then normal. just dont let your baby stop untill hes ready. it will help him later on when his appetite goes down.

You can not fill Cheyenne up...she eats all day and all night, but not much each time...if I dont let her eat/if she sleeps all night, she looses about 3 pounds a week...it is a pain to feed her around the clock, but it is better than the alternative.

Now that you mentioned that extra bottle in the middle of the night story, it reminded me of my youngest. When she was a toddler, she would wake up in the middle of the nights and ask for hotdogs and beans. Debra
