Yea I think he was just trying to explain to you the progressing stages of CF.

We get sick with something, he 'sterilizes the lungs" by giving us antibiotics to take to try to kill the infections, but still the damage has occured from when the infection was present.

Also, the person above me is right too. It would be near impossible for the antibiotics to kill every single bug, and since some still live even after taking the antibiotics we have to alternate on and off specific drugs (tobi, that new one)to keep the bacteria "at bay". Basicly its a prevention thing.

That is what I got from it anyway. Hope that helped.
