I will first off admit I ain't really been using any of the many meds that modern medicine has given us. My mom has been trying to keep my alive with herbal and natural methods. I don't have the heart to tell her I want her to just stop prolonging my life. But anyway yesterday night I was having really bad back pain. I've had severe back pain before when my lungs were inflamed a few months ago. But anyway I was wondering can a doctor or I guess my cf doctor prescribe pain meds to help with the pain? My cf doctor know I wanted to stop treatment but I was wondering even if she knew that would she still give me pain meds for when I have problems? Because really when my lungs were inflamed months ago it hurt to sleep on my sides and back. But I never got any pain meds for it besides maybe some Tylenol. I am not sure if my cf doc will give me pain meds even though I don't want her to treat my cf.

I guess it's confusing but yesterday night I had bad back pain I don't think it was my lungs inflamed because today I am not having any back pain. But last night I had it pretty bad, I was thinking maybe it was arthritis problems. But I don't know, I just wanna ask if my cf doctor will help control my pain even though I pretty much gave up on treating the cf. Now remember though my mom is trying to keep me going on natural medicine and herbs. But I don't know what she will do when I catch a cold again. Because I know most of you cfers know a cold = pneumonia in most cases or a bad lung infection. And seeing as I probably won't use the common meds(tobi, coli and bactrum) my lungs will probably be in hell and be inflamed from all the coughing and infection. I just hope theres some doctors somewhere here in Georgia that will help control my pain so things will be easier for me.

I dont see why your Dr. wouldnt give you something for the pain. Even though you may wish to stop
the conventional cf treatments to prolong life. Your Dr. is still your Dr. and i would think she would not want you to be in pain.

I think you should definately speak with your doctor; none of us here are able to to treat your condition. I'm not speaking for everyone, but I can only offer support and advice.

My advice is:

This question should be asked to your doctor, because only he/she can answer it.

Why would you stop treating your CF??

As for the pain pills....talk to your doc and see if they will give them to you. Only asking your doctor that question will get you a straight answer.
