Can We Discuss CM?

I have also been ttc for nearly 3 years. So I asked my c.f specialists if I could be refered to a fertility clinic and he has refered us. but we are now having to wait on a waiting list to be seen by the fertility clinic about our case, as being on the waiting list doesn't cost bc it is funded under a goverment scheme. I'm hoping my c.f specialist has refered me as being an urgent case bc we could waiting up to 6 months if he hasn't and that's frustrating bc I'm 27 turning 28 and don't have all the time in the world.

My husban and I could make an appointment with the fertility clinic but then they would charge us for this and any tests/treatments they decide to do and we're not flush with cash.

One question, what is clomid and is it something you take like a pill or some other form of treatment?
Just that I've heard a lot of people mention it often on this forum.

For some reaon, researchers have found that in most women with CF, their CM doesn't respond normally to hormone changes. Therefore, their CM stays "infertile" even as they go through their fertile phase.

IUI can circumvent this problem, but you can try to low-tech home version: swabbing the mucus away from your cervix, or douching before sex at your peak fertility.

Mucinex may help some people, you could combine this with the above.

For Shine, Clomid is a pill that stimulates ovulation. It is used for women who have hormone problems or who are going through IVF, IUI and need to control their hormones precisely.

Just wanted to say stay positive because its a good sign that you do get EWCM! I've never had anything resembling it in my life and my CM is the reason why I can't get pregnant. So you never know, may be it will happen for you naturally. Keeping everything crossed for you!

Thanks Tombliboo. This may be a bit TMI, but it may be useful - my EWCM isn't really like egg whites - it's more like rubber cement , but it's stretchy & I get it right before I ovulate, so I assume it's supposed to be EWCM
